365-575-102 TroubleClearing:
Issue 8.0, July 2002 Page 1 of 2
TAP-165
Clear ‘STS3 Squelch Map Inconsistent’ or
‘STS1 Squelch Map Inconsistent’
NOTE:
An STS3 squelch map inconsistent condition (Release 5 and later) or an
STS1 squelch map inconsistent condition (Release 7 and later) is most
likely caused by the provisioned target identifier (TID) for the Source and/or
Destination Node(s) at an intermediate node is not the actual TID for the Source
and/or Destination Node(s).
1. Does an STS3 (or STS1) squelch map conflict condition exists along
with an STS3 (or STS1) squelch map inconsistent condition?
If YES, then go to TAP-102 and clear the STS3 (or STS1) squelch
map conflict condition before using this procedure.
If NO, then continue with Step 2.
2. At the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Circuit-STS3 (or
STS1) command for the slot with the STS3 (or STS1) squelch map
inconsistent condition and execute to obtain an STS-3 (or STS-1) Circuit
Map Report. The report lists all the cross-connections that make up this cir-
cuit. An example of this report with a description of the output parameters is
provided in Section 11 of this manual.
3. From the report obtained in Step 2, identify the tributary of the circuit.
4. At the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Timeslot-STS3 (or
STS1) command for the tributary identified in Step 3 and execute to obtain an
STS-3 (or STS-1) Tributary Map Report. An example of this report with a
description of the output parameters is provided in Section 11 of this manual.
5. From the report obtained in Step 4, identify the actual source and destination
nodes in the report.
• Hint 1: For a 1-way cross-connection, the actual source TID is the TID
(listedintheAt Node column) of the node where the add cross-connec-
tion exists. The actual destination TID is the TID (listed in the At Node
column) of the node where the drop cross-connection exists.
• Hint 2: For a DRI cross-connection, the actual source is the TID (listed in
the At Node column) of the secondary node.
