4. Label the jumpers. Indicate the line (West or East) and direction (TRMTR or
RCVR).
5. Route the jumpers from the LGX to the FT-2000 ADR terminal. Jumpers (1
Transmit and 1 Receive) for the West line must be routed down the left side of
the bay in the fiber protection channel, jumpers (1 Transmit and 1 Receive) for
the East line must be routed down the right side of the bay in the fiber protec-
tion channel. Refer to the following Figure 2.
6. The fiber jumpers should hang without any obstructions in the fiber protection
channel. The jumpers should be routed out of the side of the protection chan-
nel near the bottom so that they can be properly dressed in the Enhanced High
Speed Shelf. Make sure the bend radius of the fiber is not exceeded when
dressing the fiber. Fibers should never be directly laced in place or cable tied.
If secure dressing is not achieved with the steps above then place the fibers in
protective tubing and lace the tubing to the protective channel.
7. Fibers enter the Enhanced High Speed Shelf near the bottom front of the shelf
and should be routed up to the optical packs through the notches along the
bottom edge of the shelf. Do not crimp the fiber and maintain bend radius
greater than the minimum.
8. Optical fibers should be left with enough slack next to the TRMTR and RCVR
circuit packs slots for later connection. Be sure to tuck fibers into the trough so
that attaching and closing the shelf cover does not crimp the fiber.
9. The protective channel will be covered when the stile strips are installed.
10. Remove the protector caps and plugs (if equipped) from the buildout and build-
out block and store them in a clean container.
NOTE:
Only 0dB, non-attenuating, LBOs are used in most of the TRMTRs. The
739E1 through 739E8 TRMTRs use a non-zero dB attenuator that is
installed at the factory. Do not change this attenuator. It is selected to work
properly with an Optical Line System (OLS).
11. Connect the transmit fiber jumper to the TRMTR circuit pack.

12. If necessary, measure, and record for office records, the received optical
power.
