Issue 8.0, July 2002 Page 3 of 6
20. At the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Path-Trace command and
execute to obtain a Path Trace Report. An example of this report with a
description of the output parameters is provided in Section 11 of this manual.
This report shows the STS-1 path(s) that originates or terminates at this
network element.
21. Does the Status field for each STS-1 path to be verified show the value
"good"?
NOTE:
The Status field in the report for each STS-1 path to be verified will show
one of the following values:
good means the actual receive path trace is the same as the provisioned
Rcv Path Trace.
MISMATCH means that the actual receive path trace is different from the
provisioned Rcv Path Trace and is only detectable by using the
CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Path Trace command.
NOT APPLICABLE means that the addressed slot is not provisioned for
DS3 operation.
UNAVAILABLE means that an incoming signal failure, a hardware failure,
or a missing cross-connection is preventing the observation of the actual
receive path trace.
If YES, then continue with Step 25.
If NO, then continue with Step 22.
22. Make a note of the value in the Status field for each STS-1 path with a Status
other than "good". Also, record the actual receive path trace (ActRx) and the
provisioned receive path trace (PrvRx) for each STS-1 path showing a Status
of "MISMATCH."
NOTE:
At this time, you must determine from office records whether the mismatch
is due to an incorrect actual receive path trace or to an incorrect
provisioned receive path trace.
23. Is the incorrect path trace the actual receive path trace or the provisioned
receive path trace?
If provisioned receive path trace, then continue with Step 24.
If actual receive path trace, then continue with Step 26.
