Enter or Change TID String of FT-2000 Network
Element
Overview: This procedure is used to enter or change the Target IDentifier (TID)
string of an FT-2000 network element. A TID change is the same as entering a TID.
Additional information on the SECURITY-Set-Network Element command is in
Chapter 8 of this manual.
1. At the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Map Ring command and
execute to obtain Ring Map Report.
2. Verify that the DCC Status of the ring is good. If the DCC Status column
indicates a FAIL, this must be cleared before continuing with this procedure.
3. Determine from office records the unique TID string (up to 20 characters).
4. At the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Set-Network Element command and
enter or change the TID string, but DO NOT press the ENTER key at this time.
NOTE:
Changing the value of the local TID will result in all incoming remote TL1
sessions being disconnected. This means the local network element will
terminate all login sessions that were requested from a TL1 gateway
network element.
5. Verify the TID string with office records.
6. If necessary, enter or change any of the other parameters for this command,
for example, the Directory Service NE, the Alarm Group, etc., then execute by
pressing the ENTER key.
7. Wait at least 2 minutes for the TID to be mapped into all nodes on the ring.
8. This step is optional. At the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Map
Ring command and verify all entries are consistent with the work instructions.
9. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
