Operations Interfaces 6
Overview 6
This section presents the operations interfaces that allow access to the FT-2000
OC-48 Lightwave System and provide alarm and status information. Local
operations interfaces include the craft interface terminal, user panel LEDs and
controls, and the circuit pack faceplate LEDs. Other operations interfaces include
office alarms, parallel telemetry, a user-settable miscellaneous discrete interface,
serial telemetry, a message-based operations system interface, and orderwire.
Craft Interface Terminal 6
General 6
The craft interface terminal (CIT) provides full access to the administrative,
maintenance, and provisioning capabilities of the FT-2000 OC-48 Lightwave
System. The FT-2000 OC-48 Lightwave System supports CIT local access
through the CIT (DCE) port, dial-up access using a modem through the CIT (DTE)
port, and remote access using the OC-48 data communications channel (DCC). In
Release 6 and later releases, the FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal
supports remote access using the OC-3 DCC. In Release 7.1.0 and later
releases, the FT-2000 OC-48 ADR Terminal supports remote access using the
OC-12 DCC channel (0x1 links only). In Release 7.2.0 and later releases, remote
access using the OC-12 DCC channel in 1+1 protected configurations is also
supported.
