Operations Interfaces
6-30 Issue 8.0 July 2002
NOTE:
Ensure that there are no active local or remote TL1 login sessions before
removing the X.25 cable from the X.25 connector at the local FT-2000
OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal. If the X.25 cable is removed from the
X.25 connector, any active local or remote TL1 login sessions are not
dropped. Using the CIT at the local and remote network elements, the
Active User Report shows these TL1 login sessions are still active.
The X.25/TL1 interface (X.25) is located on the interconnection panel of the Low
Speed Shelf - System Controller. Refer to Volume I, Section 3, "Platform
Descriptions," for more information about the physical location of the X.25/TL1
interface.
Refer to 824-102-148,
FT-2000 OC-48 Lightwave System Operations Systems
Engineering Guide
, for detailed information about the X.25/TL1 interface and TL1
message/command descriptions.

Orderwire Interface 6
The orderwire interface provides a facility for voice communications between
terminals for maintenance personnel to perform facility maintenance. In Release 6
and later releases, the orderwire interface provides a facility for voice
communications and remote access between terminals and repeaters, and
between repeaters. The FT-2000 OC-48 Repeater Bay must be equipped with the
Orderwire (OW) circuit pack to access the section orderwire byte. The FT-2000
OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal provide four 64-kb/s orderwire interfaces for
section and line orderwire. The FT-2000 OC-48 Repeater Bay provides four
64-kb/s orderwire interfaces for section orderwire. The line (express) and section
(local) orderwire interfaces are V.11/EIA-422. The section orderwire interface will
not provide voice communications between FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings
Terminals when there is an FT-2000 OC-48 Repeater Bay in the intervening
OC-48 high speed line that is not equipped with the Orderwire (OW) circuit pack.
The line (express) and section (local) orderwire interfaces [LINE OW (EXP OW)
and SECTION OW (LOC OW)] are located on the interconnection panel of the
Enhanced High Speed Shelf (or High Speed Shelf). The section (local) orderwire
interfaces [SECTION OW (LOC OW)] are located on the interconnection panel of
the Repeater Shelf - System Controller. Refer to Section 3, "Platform
Descriptions," for more information about the physical location of the line and
section orderwire interfaces.
To use the orderwire interface, the FT-2000 OC-48 Add/Drop-Rings Terminal
must be equipped with two OHCTL (TERM) circuit packs. The FT-2000 OC-48
Repeater Bay must be equipped with an Orderwire (OW) circuit pack. The OHCTL
* Available in Release 5 and later releases.
