In addition, a compliance label stating that the system has been certified along
with the manufacturer's name and place of manufacture is attached to each
equipment bay. Figure 2 shows an example of a compliance label. The
compliance label is located on the rear of the equipment bays (at eye level) and
miscellaneously-mounted shelves.

Safety Precautions for Unenclosed Systems
During service, maintenance, or restoration, the FT-2000 OC-48 Lightwave
System is considered unenclosed. During service, maintenance, or restoration,
observe the following precautions:
â– Only authorized, trained personnel should be permitted to do service,
maintenance, and restoration. Avoid exposing the eye to emissions from
unterminated, energized optical connectors at close distances. Connectors
associated with lightwave regenerators are recessed, which limits the
