Administration and Provisioning
8-120 Issue 8.0 July 2002
"AUTO": Alarms will not be raised until after a valid signal
appears on the selected direction of this port. After the signal
appears, it is continuously monitored, and the port transitions
to the IS state.
CONFIGURATION-Set-State-OC3 (TL1 = ENT-rr): This input sets the
Primary State of OC-3 ports to "AUTO" or "NMON." This parameter can be
provisioned when the selected low-speed interface slot(s) is unequipped or
equipped with any type low-speed interface circuit pack. Thus, it is
permissible to preprovision low-speed interface slots for OC-3 interfaces.
The OC-3 port state can be provisioned separately in the add and drop
directions.
The Direction parameter selects the direction of the selected
low-speed port(s) to provision (From STS-3, From OC48).
The Primary State parameter provisions the state of the selected
port(s) to either:
"NMON": The OC-3 signals for the selected direction of this
port are not monitored for errors. No conditions are reported
and PM quantities will be "-" for this port. The port will not
make a transition to the IS (in service) state if a good signal
appears.
"AUTO": Alarms will not be raised until after a valid signal
appears on the selected direction of this port. After the signal
appears, it is continuously monitored, and the port transitions
to the IS state.
CONFIGURATION-Set-State-OC12 (TL1 = ENT-rr): This input sets the
Primary State of OC12 ports to "AUTO" or "NMON." This parameter can be
provisioned when the selected low-speed interface slot(s) is unequipped or
equipped with any type low-speed interface circuit pack. Thus, it is
permissible to preprovision low-speed interface slots for OC12 interfaces.
The OC-12 port state can be provisioned separately in the add and drop
directions
.
The Direction parameter selects the direction of the selected
low-speed port(s) to provision (From STS-12, From OC48).
The Primary State parameter provisions the state of the selected
port(s) (and selected direction) to either:
"NMON": The OC-12 signals for the selected direction of this
port are not monitored for errors. No conditions are reported
and PM quantities will be "-" for this port. The port will not
make a transition to the IS (in service) state if a good signal
appears.
