Administration and Provisioning
8-140 Issue 8.0 July 2002
— The User Privilege parameter sets the user's security level for
nonprivileged users to either:
—“Reports Only”: User will be able to execute only the
Retrieve, Set-Password, and Test-LED inputs.
—“General”: User will be able to execute all commands, except
Initialize-System, Set-Login, Set-Network Element, and
Set-Security.
— The Status parameter for a privileged user can only be set to
"Enabled."
■ SECURITY-Set-Login-Delete: This input deletes a nonprivileged login.
If the login is active at the time this command is executed, the user is
immediately logged off the system.
— The Login parameter selects the login that is to be deleted. The
Retrieve-Login input will list the login IDs.
■ SECURITY-Set-Login-Enter: This input enters a new login, including
password and user privileges. A privileged user can create up to 10
nonprivileged logins per network element.
There are 2 privileged user IDs and up to 10 nonprivileged IDs allowed per
network element.
— The New Login parameter is the login ID for the login being created.
It must be a string of from 1 to 10 alphanumeric characters, in which
the difference between upper and lower case is significant, and it
must be different from all other login IDs in this network element.
— The New Password parameter is the password for the login being
created. A password consists of a string of alphabetic, numeric, or
symbolic characters conforming to the following rules:
— String must contain from 6 to 10 characters
— At least 2 of the characters must be nonalphabetic
— At least 1 of the characters must be symbolic (the @, #, ?, or
space not allowed)
— The difference between upper and lower case is significant.
— The Re-enter New Password parameter confirms the New
Password. Reenter the exact characters that were entered for the
New Password parameter.
— The User Privilege parameter sets the user's security level to one of
the following:
— "Reports Only": User will be able to execute only the
Retrieve
, Set-Password, and Test-LED inputs.
— "General": User will be able to execute all commands, except
Initialize-System, Set-Login
, Set-Network Element, and
Set-Security.
