NOTE:
Ensure that all slots, including the low-speed slots, are properly
equipped before initiating this test.
Verify the FT-2000 network elements are
connected in an FT-2000 point-to-point network
and are not looped back.

2. At the local FT-2000 end terminal, connect and
condition the craft interface terminal (CIT).

3. At the CIT, select SECURITY-Retrieve-Network
Element and execute to obtain a
Retrieve-Network Element Report to determine
the state of the Site 0 parameter. The site
parameter is used to differentiate the network
elements in a point-to-point network.
4. At the DSX-3 cross-connect panel or equivalent,
disconnect all DS3 inputs and outputs at the
local FT-2000 end terminal.
5. At the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Update
and execute.
6. Establish a remote login to the remote FT-2000
end terminal and repeat Steps 3 through 5. An
assistant is required when Step 4 is performed
at the remote FT-2000 end terminal.

7. If required, and at the CIT, set SECURITY-Site 0
parameter to Yes at one end terminal and to No
at the other end terminal.
8. Verify the NE ACTY and the FE ACTY LEDs are
off at the local user panel.
9. Perform a system automatic turnup test on all
lines.
