18 Grind: Pause Start or Stop
(Conditional)
Grind: Grind
(Start)
Grind: Wait
for Quit (Stop)
Pause can enter grinding with Start (VID
15 = 9) or Wait for Quit (VID 15 = 3)
through Stopping (VID = 20) with Stop.
5.3.4 7AF Process States
5.3.4.1 Main Screen (VID 15 = 0)
This is the default state of the Equipment after initialization and acts as the dispatch state for machine operations. Other
states ultimately return to this state to wait for other operations.
5.3.4.2 Homing and Referencing States (VID 15 = 1, 10, 11)
Homing and referencing operations are done in these states. State 1 is waiting for the operation to be selected. State 10 is a
reference operation is in progress and State 11 is any homing operation.
5.3.4.3 Grind Cycle States (VID 15 = 2, 3, 9, 20, 21)
Grinding is monitored through the Grind Cycle States. Waiting for material processing to start is State 2. Processing of
material is reflected by State 9. If the process is paused, State 21 is active. If the process is being stopped, State 20 is
active. Note that State 20 is shared by all grind-like processes to signify a transitional state. When a process has been
stopped because material to process has been exhausted or an operator has intervened, Wait for Quit, State 3, is entered.
5.3.4.4 Dress and True Cycle States (VID 15 = 4, 5, 12 through 20)
Dress and Truing operations are monitored through the Dress and Truing Cycle States. Waiting for an operation to be
selected is State 4. The operation selected will be reflected in the state entered, State 12 to State 19. If the operation is
being stopped, State 20 is active. Note that State 20 is shared by all grind-like processes to signify a transitional state.
When the chosen operation has been stopped and acknowledged by the operator, Wait for Quit, State 5, is entered.
5.3.4.5 Edit Screens (VID 15 = 6)
This state means that the Equipment is being used to examine and possibly change recipe parameters.
5.3.4.6 Data Screen (VID 15 = 8)
This state means that the Equipment is being used to examine or store grind data, the fault log or wheel data.
5.3.4.7 Maintenance Screens (VID 15 = 7)
This state means that the Equipment has been put into maintenance mode.
5.3.5 Related Variables
The following table lists the variables (SV's, EC's, or DVVALS) which are relevant to the Equipment processing states.
For a more complete description of these variables, see "Appendix A -- Variables".
