2. Manually move the bridge to the right side of the machine, aligning the upper
left spindle over the lower right spindle:
• Reach inside the sprocket cover and rotate the sprocket clockwise or
counterclockwise as needed to move the bridge and position the upper left
spindle.
GOAL: The upper left spindle U-bracket must be aligned over
the inflatable seal surrounding the right work chuck.
3. At the Home Machine menu, lower the probes:
Touch to Select Explanation/Screen Display
• Measure
Thickness At the Home Machine menu, touch the
"Measure Thickness" button to lower the
probes.
Note: The probe tip lowers to contact the fringe plate.
4. Rotate the grind wheel while observing the left probe reading on the Home
Machine menu screen:
a. While gently holding the fringe plate with one hand, manually rotate the
upper left spindle grind wheel.
Note:
If you rotate the wheel too far, causing the probe to fall off the fringe plate:
• Slowly push the probe bellows up with your fingers and
• rotate the wheel in reverse while supporting the probe.
• Slowly release the bellows when the probe is again above the fringe
plate, permitting the probe to again rest on the fringe plate.
