8. Test the sensor position by moving the bridge away from and back toward the
sensor in small increments, finally positioning the bridge such that the spring
cushion is compressed one-half inch:
GOAL: The sensor's LED should be ON when the bridge is
positioned such that the spring cushion is compressed one-
half inch.
Touch to Select Explanation/Screen Display
Move the bridge away from the sensor:
a. Factor x 1000 Estimate the distance the bridge must move and
set the movement factor. For example, touch
the "Factor x 1000" button to set the factor at
.001 inches x 1000 (one inch).
b. ⇒ Touch the "Right Arrow" button on the bridge
icon at the top of the screen as many times as
needed to move the bridge away from the
sensor.
Note:
The sensor's light should turn OFF when the
bridge has been moved away.
Move the bridge toward the sensor:
c. Factor x 10
or
Factor x 1 At the Machine Maintenance menu, reduce the
factor as needed to move the bridge in smaller
increments.
d. ⇐ Touch the "Left Arrow" button on the bridge
icon at the top of the screen as many times as
needed to position the bridge to compress the
spring cushion by one-half inch.
e. If the light does not come ON, return to Step 7, above in this section, to
reposition the sensor.
f. If the light comes ON, go on to When a Satisfactory Adjustment Is
Achieved, below.
