9. Test the sensor position by moving the sensor trigger away from and back
toward the sensor in small increments, finally positioning the spindle such that
it meets the Step 4. goal, above in this section:

Move the spindle away from the sensor:
a. Factor x 1000 Estimate the distance the spindle must move and
set the movement factor. For example, touch
the "Factor x 1000" button to set the factor at
.001 inches x 1000 (one inch).
b. ⇓ Touch the "Down Arrow" button just to the left
of the coarse spindle icon as many times as
needed to have the spindle away from the
sensor.
Note:
The sensor's light should turn OFF when the
spindle has been moved away.
Move the spindle toward the sensor:
c. Factor x 10
or
Factor x 1 At the Machine Maintenance menu, reduce the
factor as needed to move the spindle in smaller
increments.
d. ⇑ Touch the "Up Arrow" button just to the left of
the coarse spindle icon as many times as needed
to position the spindle to meet the Step 4.

e. If the light does not come ON, return to Step 6, above in this section, to
reposition the sensor.
f. If the light comes ON, go on to Fine Spindle, below.
FINE SPINDLE SENSOR
Repeat as for coarse spindle, substituting the fine spindle icon for coarse at the
Machine Maintenance menu.
