Strasbaugh nTellect (Model 7AF) Wafer Grinder
12 - 44 Version 1.2 - June 2004
MACHINES WITH HOME INDEX HARDWARE INSTALLED
During installation, the PC-DSP card must be loaded with the configuration that
supports this function. In addition, jumpers must be installed on the PC-DSP card
grounding the home input signals from the work and spin chucks.
With the hardware installed and chuck homing initiated, the homing procedure will
first locate the edge of the index pulse. After the edge is located, the chuck will rotate
to an optional offset.
Referring to the Machine (Calibration) Setup Entry Menu section of this chapter,
change the offset in fractions of a rotation, positive or negative:
Use positive numbers to rotate the offset counterclockwise.
Use negative numbers to rotate the offset clockwise.
Use the Machine Variables LT Chuck Home Offset (variable 10) and RT Chuck
Home Offset (variable 11) for the left and right chucks, respectively.
Note: The spin chuck does not have an offset.
MACHINES WITHOUT HOME INDEX HARDWARE INSTALLED
If the hardware for home indexing is not installed, the Machine Variables LT Chuck
Home Offset (variable 10) and RT Chuck Home Offset (variable 11) should be set
to 0.0, which is the default value. Refer to the Machine (Calibration) Setup Entry
Menu section of this chapter for information on setting and changing machine
variables.
Note: Setting these variables to values other than 0.0 without the indexing hardware
installed will result in a "Rotational Home" Fault.
Note that for machines without home index hardware, the chuck position can still be
changed by manually positioning the chuck in the Main Menu and then completing the
"Home All" function in the Home Screen.
