Strasbaugh Calibration Variables
3
Number: 12 Value: 0.5 Label: Bridge Home in
When the bridge is homed or sent to the right, it will stop this many inches
from the right end of travel.
The fine spindle, located on the right, is positioned along the linear travel via
a ball screw. The coarse spindle, located on the left, mechanically bolts to
the fine spindle. The coarse spindle follows the fine spindle movement at a
fixed distance. The distance between the fine spindle and the coarse spindle
is adjustable and should be set equal to the distance measured between the
work chucks.
The center of the grind spindle should be offset to the left from the center of
the work chuck by 1.415 inches. The measurement probes should be
adjusted to 15 inches between the probe tips.
“Bridge Home in,” entered in inches, is the distance the bridge travels to the
left after the bridge assembly locates the home sensor on the right side of the
bridge weldment. This variable determines the coarse wheel position for the
right work chuck.
Number: 13 Value: 15.0 Label: Bridge Center in
When the bridge is moved to the center it will stop this many inches from the
right end of travel.
This variable determines the fine wheel position for the right work chuck and
the coarse wheel position for the left work chuck.
Number: 14 Value: 30.0 Label: Bridge Left in
When the bridge is moved to the left it will stop this many inches from the
right end of travel.
This variable determines the fine wheel position for the left work chuck.
Number: 15 Value: 0.0 Label: Request Re-Reference
Software version 6.01 introduces Fully Probeless Grinding. During that
process it is impossible to keep track of wheel wear. Grind results will be
best if the 7AF is re-referenced before grinding so many wafers that the
wheel has worn a significant amount. Place a value into variable 15 to
receive a reminder to reference the 7AF after this many wafers have been
ground in a fully probeless grind.
