7AF Version 3.04 Features
5/13/97 Ken Hill
Purpose
Software version 3.04 for the model 7AF is primarily to support the use of the ESC 212 robot controller.
Other minor changes were made. If upgraded from a version before v3.00, new FloPro runtime software,
version 2.776, will be automatically installed. Likewise, new screen files (.GRS) may be used and are
automatically installed. This software must use Robot Macros, V2_04.MAC for ESC 100 controllers and
RP212.MAC for ESC 212 controllers!
Use of ESC 212 Capabilities
Machine variable number 85 turns on the ESC 212 support by setting the model # to 212. Leaving the
variable set to 0 will make the 7AF continue to operate the same for the current installed base of ESC 100
controllers. Note that two macro commands have been changed on the ESC 212 controllers. The previous
Set Wafer Size (SWS) is now Set Wafer Parameters (SWP). The previous STATUS is now RObot STatus
(ROST).
A new version of the robot monitor program has been included that supports the ESC 212. The older version
of EQT.EXE will not work properly with the new controller. The new controller requires the FF option in
the file EQT.INI be set to 2. Do not load old (ESC 100) parameter files (.par) to the new controller. Old
parameter files will corrupt the controller and it will have to be completely reinitialized. Use the new
default robot parameter file R212.PAR. If the prealigner parameter file must be reloaded, use the larger
parameter file provided with the prealigner.
Spin Station Chuck Dry Speed
The spin station chuck dry speed has been changed from a hard coded 2000 RPM to track the spin dry RPM
in Machine Variable number 78.
GEM Improvements
When Equipment Constants are sent to the 7AF by the host, they are now altered and stored permanently if
there are no errors in the transaction. Several variables have been added that are sampled at every internal
data update to facilitate real time process data gathering. These variables include feed rates, grind force,
wheel position, probe readings, chuck vacuum level, coolant flow and motor current.
Utilities
A new utility, ARCH_NEW.EXE, is included. If the count of data files (CorFxxx.DAT) is lost in the
ARCHIVE.LOG file, this program will count the data files and write a new ARCHIVE.LOG file.
7AF Version 3.05 Features
8/14/97 Ken Hill
Purpose
Software version 3.05 for the model 7AF is primarily to support in-situ dressing of the coarse wheel on the
left chuck and the newer IBM integrated touch screen. If upgraded from a version before v3.00, new FloPro
runtime software, version 2.776, will be automatically installed. Likewise, new screen files (.GRS) may be
used and are automatically installed. This software must use Robot Macros, V2_04.MAC for ESC 100
controllers and RP212.MAC for ESC 212 controllers!
