5.13.4 Isolate via Protection
Controls and the General Patch can be forced into ISOLATE using the
Mix Protection selection methods. This is different from selecting the
ISOLATE Control Mode in that Isolation persists only as long as the Pro-
tection Isolation is applied. This provides a convenient method of tempo-
rarily Isolating controls in any Mix Pass without creating new passes.
To apply Isolation via Protection, the same methods are used as when cre-
ating and applying Protection Sets. The only difference is “Isolate From
Mix” is checked for either Protection Sets, Global Patch, or both before
Protection is applied.
