Service Accumlator Systems
Safety
Escaping fluid or gas from pressurized
hydraulic accumulator systems can
cause serious injury.
Extreme heat can cause the
accumulator to burst, and pressurized
lines can be accidentally cut.
Do NOT weld or use a torch near a
pressurized accumulator or pressurized
line.
Relieve pressure from the hydraulic
system before removing the
accumulator.
Never attempt to relieve a hydraulic
system or accumulator pressure by
loosening a fitting.
Accumulators cannot be repaired.
Prevent Acid Burns
Sulfuric acid in battery electrolyte is
poisonous. It is a strong enough to burn
skin, eat holes in clothing, and cause
blindness if splashed into eyes.
To avoid the hazard:
Fill batteries in a well-ventilated area.
Wear eye protection and rubber gloves.
Avoid breathing fumes when adding
electrolyte.
Use proper jump start procedure.
If you spill acid on yourself:
Flush your skin with water.
Apply baking soda or lime to help
neutralize the acid.
Flush your eyes with water for 15-30
minutes. Get the medical attention
immediately.
If acid is swallowed:
Do NOT induce vomiting.
Drink large amounts of water or milk, but
do not exceed 2 L (2 quarts).
Get medical attention immediately.
Prevent Machine Damage When
Welding
To prevent damage to electronic
components, be sure to disconnect the
negative ground cable before welding on
combine.
