9980 Self-Propelled Peanut Combine Ground Drive and Rear Axle Service
Install Front Wheels Dual Wheels
8. To install outer wheel, install the pilot studs
(A) in the top and bottom tapped holes of
the spacer ring. Stud threads must bottom
out in the hole.
9. Position the outer wheel on the studs with
the bottom end of the tire cleat to the front
and down.
10.
Attach the wheel with spacers (B) and
wheel bolts (C).
11.
Replace the pilot studs with spacers and
wheel bolts.
12. Torque the wheel bolts to the following
specification for the initial wheel bolt
torque. Use a criss/cross pattern as
shown in the sketch to evenly pull the
wheel tightly against the hub.
Torque = 200 Nm (150 lb-ft)
A Pilot studs
B Spacers
C Wheel bolts
D Chain slot
IMPORTANT! Wheel bolts MUST be
clean and oil-
free when installed and
torqued. Torque values specified in the
following procedures are for clean, dry,
wheel bolts. Lubricating oil reduces friction
and thread bite to overload bolts.
Due to countersunk design of spacer ring,
inner wheel bolts can be checked and
torqued when the outer wheel is removed.
NOTE! Outer wheels have a chain slot (D)
in rims.
