Svitare e rimuovere la vite
superiore (4) e quella inferiore (12).
Smontare il tirante completo (19).
Il tirante (19) è composto da un’asta
centrale (9), da due dadi (8) e (10) e
da due snodi sferici (7) e (11). Sugli
snodi, in corrispondenza del foro di
fulcraggio, lavorano due bussole (6).
Dopo aver rimosso le bussole
verificare, ruotando a mano l’anello
interno, il gioco dello snodo sferico: in
caso di gioco eccessivo sostituirlo.
Durante le operazioni di ricomposizione
fare attenzione al dado (10) con
filettatura sinistrorsa, riconoscibile
dalla segnatura (A): va montato in
corrispondenza della parte segnata (A)
dell’asta centrale (9).
L’interasse tra gli snodi deve
essere 285 mm.
Modificando questa quota si
modifica l’assetto della moto.
Serrare alla coppia prescritta (Sez. C 3)
i dadi (8) e (10) sull’asta bloccando
quest’ultima sulla presa di chiusura
centrale.

Undo and remove upper screw (4)
and lower screw (12).
Remove the tie-rod assembly (19).
The tie–rod assembly (19) is
comprised of a central rod (9) two
nuts (8) and (10) and two ball joints (7)
and (11). Tow tapered bushes (6) are
located at the sides of each ball joint.
After removing the bushes, check the
amount of play in the ball joint by turning
the internal ring by hand: change the
ball joint if it has excessive play.
During reassembly, note that nut (10)
marked (A) has a left hand thread:
on reassembly, make sure that this
nut is to be to the end of the rod (9)
also marked (A).
The centre-to-centre distance between
the ball joints should be 285 mm.
Changing this distance will alter the
rear ride height of the motorcycle.
Tighten the nuts (8) and (10) on the
rod to the specified torque while
holding the rod against rotation with
a wrench on the central flats.
