Note
Per una migliore chiarezza
le immagini rappresentano un
motore rimosso dal telaio.
Verifica del gioco di apertura
(Sa)
Portare il pistone del cilindro sul
quale si deve operare al punto
morto superiore, in fase di scoppio:
in questa condizione tutte le valvole
sono chiuse e gli alberi distribuzione
risultano in posizione di riposo e
quindi liberi di ruotare.
Verificare con spessimetro il gioco
(Sa) presente tra bilancere di apertura
e il lato più basso della camma
sull'albero distribuzione.
Il valore deve essere compreso tra
quelli prescritti (Sez. D 4).
Se ciò non risulta, rimuovere il
registro di apertura (3), come
descritto al paragrafo “Smontaggio
valvole” (Sez. N 4.5), e sostituirlo
con uno di altezza adeguata per
ottenere il gioco prescritto.
Note
A ricambio sono disponibili
registri bilancieri di apertura da 1,8 a
3,8 (749/749Dark) e 1,8 a 2,8 (749S):
sul registro viene riportata con una
marcatura la misura del registro
stesso.

Checking and adjusting
the valve clearances
Notes
For the purposes of clarity,
the figures show the engine
removed from the frame.
Checking the opening clearance
(Sa)
Move the piston of the cylinder
being checked to TDC of the
expansion stroke: in this condition all
the valves are closed and the
camshafts are in their rest position
and hence free to rotate.
Using a feeler gauge, check the
clearance (Sa) between the opening
rocker arm and the lower edge of
the camshaft cam.
The clearance must be within the
specified limits (Sect. D 4).
If it is not, remove the opening
shim (3), as described in the
paragraph “Valve disassembly”
(Sect. N 4.5), and replace it with a
shim of adequate height to obtain
the specified clearance.
Notes
Replacement opening shims
are available with thicknesses
ranging from 1.8 to 3.8 (749/749Dark)
and 1.8 to 2.8 (749S): each shim is
marked with its size.
