Attenzione
Questa operazione va
effettuata a motore freddo.
L'operazione eseguita a motore
caldo, può causare fuoriuscite di
refrigerante o di vapori bollenti che
possono procurare gravi ustioni.
Rimuovere le carenature (Sez. E 2).
Svitare il tappo di carico (1) del
serbatoio di espansione.
Sistemare un recipiente sotto al
motore e porre il veicolo in
appoggio sul cavalletto laterale.
Svitare il tappo dal foro (2) di scarico
liquido posto sul coperchio pompa.
Lasciare defluire completamente
tutto il liquido.
Riavvitare nel foro (2) di scarico
liquido il tappo con nuova guarnizione.
Procedere al caricamento del circuito
versando liquido prescritto nuovo nel
vaso di espansione.
Attendere qualche minuto per
consentire al liquido di riempire
tutte le canalizzazioni interne.
Riempire completamente il vaso di
espansione e richiudere il tappo (1).
Avviare il motore e portare la
temperatura del liquido a 110°C /
230°F; far funzionare il motore per
circa 10 minuti.
Lasciare raffreddare il motore per
permettere la fuoriuscita dell’aria
presente nel circuito.
Attenzione
Non avvicinare mani, attrezzi e
indumenti alla ventola del radiatore
dell’acqua in quanto questa entra in
funzione automaticamente senza
preavviso e può procurare seri danni.
Importante
Verificare che non vi siano
perdite nel circuito.
Completare il caricamento dal
bocchettone del serbatoio di
espansione, portando il livello del
liquido alla tacca superiore MAX.
Serrare il tappo (1) del serbatoio di
espansione e rimontare le carenature
(Sez. E 2).
Changing the coolant
Warning
This operation must only be
carried out when the engine is cold.
Attempting to change the coolant with
the engine hot could lead to burns
from hot coolant or scalding steam.
Remove the side fairings (Sect. E 2).
Remove the expansion tank filler
cap (1).
Place a container under the engine
and place the motorcycle on its side
stand.
Unscrew the plug fropm the drain
hole (2) located on the pump cover.
Allow the coolant to drain off
completely.
Refit the cap to the drain hole (2)
along with a new gasket.
Filling the cooling system by pouring
the recommended coolant mixture
into the expansion tank.
Allow several minutes for the coolant
to fill all internal passages.
Completely fill the expansion tank
and replace the cap (1).
Start the engine and bring the coolant
temperature up to 110°C / 230°F; run
the engine for about 10 minutes.
Let the engine cool to allow all air to
leave the cooling system.
Warning
Keep your hands, clothing and
tools well clear of the radiator fan at
all times; this fan starts automatically
without warning and could cause
serious injury or damage.
Important
Check the cooling circuit for
possible leaks.
Top up the coolant through the
expansion tank filler to bring the
level up to the MAX mark.
Replace and tighten the cap (1) of
the expansion tank and replace the
side fairings (Sect. E 2).
