Candele
Verificare la colorazione dell’isolante
ceramico dell’elettrodo centrale: una
colorazione uniforme marrone chiaro
è testimone di un buono stato del
motore e di un giusto grado termico.
Il veicolo può montare sia candele con
elettrodo di massa (4) sia candele
senza elettrodo di massa (5).
Nel caso in cui siano montate candele
con elettrodo di massa verrà verificata
anche l'usura dell'elettrodo centrale e
la distanza fra gli elettrodi che deve
essere di: 0,6÷0,7 mm.
Importante
Verificare la distanza tra
elettrodo centrale e laterale. Se questa
distanza non è conforme a quella
indicata o la candela è imbrattata da
evidenti depositi carboniosi, si
consiglia la sua sostituzione.
Rimontare la candela sulla testa
effettuando un primo serraggio a
mano di tutto il filetto.
Serrare alla coppia di serraggio
(Sez. C 3).
Note
Per il posizionamento dei cavi
candele (Sez. P 1).
Rimontare il codone serbatoio (Sez. E 3).
Importante
Non usare candele con un grado
termico inadeguato o con lunghezza
del filetto non regolamentare. La
candela deve essere fissata bene.
La candela, se lasciata lenta può
scaldarsi e danneggiare il motore.

Spark plugs
Check the colour of the ceramic
insulation on the centre electrode:
an even, light brown colour indicates
the engine is in good condition and
running at the right temperature.
The motorcycle may be fitted with
plugs with earth electrodes plugs (4)
or plugs without earth electrodes (5).
On spark plugs with earth electrodes,
check the central electrode for damage
and the gap between the electrodes,
which should be: 0.6 to 0.7 mm.
Important
Check the gap between the
central and side electrodes. If this
distance is not as specified or the
spark plug is soiled with heavy
sooty deposits, replace it.
Reinstall the spark plug in the
cylinder head, first tightening it
down fully by hand.
Tighten to the specified torque
(Sect. C 3).

spark plug leads, see (Sect. P 1).
Refit the fuel tank/tail guard assembly
(Sect. E 3).
Important
Do not use spark plugs with
inadequate thermal rating or incorrect
thread length. The spark plug must
be securely installed. If the spark plug
is loose, it can overheat and damage
the engine.
