Determine the Correct Top Stop Angle
1. Push and hold the run buttons so the press makes a full stroke and top stops.
2. The display shows the crank angle at which the press stopped. Write this angle in one of
the boxes below.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 at least three times; each time record the Angle the Press Stopped.
• If the press consistently stopped after 358° and before 2° , the Top Stop Angle is
correct and does not need adjustment. Go to “Prepare to Install Magnet for Overrun
Limit Sensor,” page 116, to install the overrun limit sensor magnet.
• If the press consistently stopped before 358° , go to the next step.
• If the press consistently stopped after 2° , go to the next step.
• If the press sometimes stopped before 358° and sometimes after 2° , call Wintriss
Tech Support.
4. From the angles you wrote in the boxes in step 2, above, find the average of the Angles
the Press Stopped. Write this average in the box below. You will use this value later.

5. At the top of the stroke (TDC, top dead center) the crank angle is 360° or 0° .
At the bottom of the stroke (BDC, bottom dead center) the crank angle is 180° .
Look at the Average Angle the Press Stopped and determine whether it is
BEFORE TDC or AFTER TDC.
• If
BEFORE TDC, (between 181° and 360° ), go to the next section, “Determine Top
Stop Angle If Press Stopped BEFORE TDC.”
• If
AFTER TDC, (between 0° and 180° ), go to “Determine Top Stop Angle if Press
Stopped AFTER TDC,” page 113.
