b. You can alternatively specify the local interface through which the
router will forward traffic destined to the destination network. Select
Interface and choose the forwarding interface from the pull-down
menu.
This option has several advantages, particularly when you are
connecting to an ISP router:
You do not need to know the IP address of the connecting router.
The route will remain valid even if the connecting router changes
its IP address.

4. If you want, you can configure an administrative distance for the route.
Enter the distance in the Administrative Distance field.
A router can learn routes in many different ways. A route’s administrative
distance informs the router how reliable the route is. When the router
knows more than one route to a destination, it chooses the route with the
lowest administrative distance.
