Configuring Demand Routing for Primary ISDN Modules
Using Demand Routing for ISDN Connections
For more information about configuring static routes, see “Static Routing” on
page 11-9 of Chapter 11: IP Routing—Configuring Static Routes.
After you have configured the static route, you should test your configuration
to ensure that the ISDN connection is triggered by the appropriate traffic. (For
example, you can use the extended ping command to simulate a packet that
matches the criteria for interesting traffic.) If the ISDN connection is not
established successfully, you should check your configuration. Enter show
running-config from the enable mode context and look for any obvious
configuration errors. If you do not immediately find a problem, see “Trouble-
shooting Demand Routing” on page 8-70.
Example of a Successful Demand Interface Call
Figure 8-13 shows the successful establishment of an ISDN connection using
the demand interface.
