15. Establish a login to the primary node identified in
Step 2. (To establish a remote login, refer to
DLP-524.)
—
16.
NOTE:
The normal cross-connections needed at the primary node are a
1-way-dri cross-connection and a drop-and-continue cross-connection
(bridged tributary-to-slot and same tributary-to-tributary).
At the CIT, select
CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Crossconnect
ion-STS3 (or STS1) and execute to obtain
an STS3 (or STS1) Cross-Connection Map
Report. Section 11 shows examples of reports.
—
17. Compare the report with the operation
instructions and record any cross-connections to
be added and/or deleted at the primary node.
—
18.
!
CAUTION:
The cross-connections to be deleted MUST NOT be carrying traffic;
otherwise, service interruptions will occur.
NOTE:
If the slot-to-tributary (add) cross-connection of the required 1-way-dri
cross-connection already exists, do not delete it.
Delete any unnecessary cross-connections
associated with the tributary(ies) and/or the
slot(s) to be cross-connected. Use the
CONFIGURATION-Delete-Crossconnectio
n-STS3 (or STS1) command to delete a
cross-connection.
