Enter the required 1-way-dri cross-connection(s)
using one of these commands. Use the
CONFIGURATION-Enter-Crossconnection-S
TS3 (or STS1) command to make a
cross-connection, or if the slot-to-tributary (add)
component of the desired 1-way-dri
cross-connection already exists, use the
CONFIGURATION-Enter-Roll-STS3 (or STS1)
command to change it to a 1-way-dri
cross-connection.

20.
NOTE:
This step is optional. If the cross-connection just made was to a slot
containing an OC-3 circuit pack, you may want to provision a DCC
assignment to establish DCC connectivity with the network element at
the other end of the OC-3 line.
You may enter/change a DCC assignment on an
OC-3 line.
DLP-542
21.
NOTE:
This step is optional, but it is recommended. The primary node has a
1-way-dri cross-connection. An incoming low-speed signal failure on
the associated port or slot will be protected by a DRI protection switch
so service will not be affected. You may wish to change the alarm level
associated with an incoming low-speed signal failure from the original
value of CR (critical) to MN (minor).
At the CIT, select the appropriate command,
CONFIGURATION-Set-T3,
CONFIGURATION-Set-EC1,or
CONFIGURATION-Set-OC3 to provision the
Alarm Level to MN (minor).
—
22. At the CIT, select
CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Crossconnect
ion-STS3 (or STS1) and execute to obtain
an STS3 (or STS1) Cross-Connection Map
Report. Section 11 shows examples of reports.
