1. Each node’s current provisioning data should be immediately available. Save
this information on your hard drive as follows:
Press F3 to activate the CIT program to the OUTPUT MODE. Press the F7
function key labeled "Print". Select Output to File. Select ON (the “?” key acti-
vates the ON/OFF menu). Then type in the path to identify where to put the file
[example: c:\cit(bay ID).out]. Press F7 to exit the menu.
This will allow you to save all the retrieved data for that bay to a text file on
your hard drive. Be sure to remote to all nodes and enter a unique file name
for each bay for which data will be saved. Retrieve the following data at each
node:
• CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Crossconnection-All
• CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Equipment-All
• CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Map-Ring
• CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Synchronization
• CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-OC3
• CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-OC12
• SECURITY-Retrieve-Network Element
• SECURITY-Retrieve-Security-Port-All
2. Retire all existing alarms in the ring.
3. At the CIT, perform the CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Map-Ring command.
Print (or write down) the TIDs in the order in which they appear in the map
report. The first entry in the report is the "Local Source Node" where your CIT
is connected.
4. Beginning with the first node listed below the "Local Node" on the list, perform
a remote login by pressing the F2 key. Select from the pull-down menu the
remote node you want.
5. When you are logged in to the remote node, execute the FAULT-Reset com-
mand and type a "y". Hit the <ENTER> or RETURN key to reset the remote
node. The reset process at the remote node will terminate the remote login
session after a minute or two.
