If NO, then continue with Step 16.
8. If the bay is still in service, remove the LNCTL circuit pack.
9. Remove the SYSMEM circuit pack and install a replacement circuit pack hav-
ing the same or a higher series number. For example, a series number S1:2 is
the same series number as S1:4. The 2 and 4 refer to minor changes within
series 1.

10. Wait 10 minutes. (If an Active Alarms and Status Report is obtained during
this time and the Description Column shows a reset in progress condition,
don't worry because this is a normal software download operation.)
11. Does one or both of the following conditions exist?
a. The NE ACTY and/or FE ACTY LED are lighted.
b. The office alarm(s) is off.
If YES, then continue with Step 19.
If NO, then continue with Step 12.
12. Reinstall the original SYSMEM circuit pack removed in Step 9.

13. Remove the SYSCTL circuit pack and install a replacement circuit pack having
the same or a higher series number. For example, a series number S1:2 is the
same series number as S1:4. The 2 and 4 refer to minor changes within
series 1.

14. Wait 10 minutes.
15. Does one or both of the following conditions exist?
a. The NE ACTY and/or FE ACTY LED are lighted.
b. The office alarm(s) is off.
If YES, then continue with Step 19.
If NO, then contact your local maintenance support group for a higher
level of technical assistance.
16. Install a replacement SYSMEM and/or SYSCTL circuit pack in the appropriate
slot(s).
