8. Referring to the STS-3 (or STS-1) Cross-Connection Map Report, is a through
cross-connection, an add cross-connection, or no cross-connection shown for
the appropriate tributary (1-16 for STS3 or 1-48 for STS1) and line (1E or 1W)?
If a through cross-connection, then go back to Step 4.
If an add cross-connection, then continue with Step 9.
If no cross-connection, then continue with Step 18.
9. Referring to the STS-3 (or STS-1) Cross-Connection Map Report, note and
record the LS INTFC slot associated with the add cross-connection.
10. At the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Retrieve-Equipment: All to obtain
an Equipage and Version Report.
11. Referring to the Equipage and Version Report, is a DS3 circuit pack (CP), an
STS1E or OC3 CP, or no CP shown for the LS INTFC slot identified in Step
10?
If a DS3 CP, then continue with Step 12.
If an STS1E or OC3 CP, then continue with Step 14.
If no CP, then continue with Step 16.
NOTE:
There is no apparent reason for the DS3 path unequipped condition.
12. Go to TAP-108 to clear the incorrect response.
13. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
NOTE:
The DS3 path does not originate within the FT-2000 ring network.
14. Issue a Trouble Report to the source of the path associated with the LS INTFC
slot identified in Step 9.
15. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
NOTE:
The DS3 path unequipped condition is due to the path's not having a DS3
source. The condition can be cleared by installing a DS3 CP or by deleting all of
the cross-connections associated with the path at all of the associated nodes.
16. Install a DS3 circuit pack in the LS INTFC slot identified in Step 9 (DLP-514)or
delete all of the cross-connections associated with the path at all of the associ-
ated nodes (DLP-536).
17. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
