Page2of2 Issue8.0,July2002
5. Was an LS INTFC, TRMTR, or RCVR reset or changed out while the ADR ter-
minal was isolated from the rest of the ring or when the OC-48 signals were
optically looped back?
If YES, then continue with Step 8.
If NO, then continue with Step 6.
NOTE:
The double failure condition addressed by this procedure is not present.
6. Go to TAP-102 and clear all individual trouble conditions at this network ele-
ment.
7. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
8. Delete and reenter all cross-connections involving east-facing tributaries by
using the CONFIGURATION-Delete-Crossconnection:STS3 (or
STS1) command. Use the CONFIGURATION-Enter-Crossconnec-
tion:STS3 (or STS1) command to reenter the cross-connections.
9. At each of the nodes adjacent to the affected node, lock out high-speed pro-
tection switching by using the FAULT-Switch-Line:All:Lockout com-
mand. This prevents a line switch to protection anywhere in the ring and drops
any active switch already in the ring.
10. Once the line failure at the affected node is cleared, reset the high-speed pro-
tection lockout at both adjacent nodes by using the
FAULT-Switch-Line:All:Reset command. This drops the lockouts and
terminates any Wait to Restore interval in progress.
11. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
