8. Verify that the information in the report matches the instructions.

CAUTION:
Service or traffic interruption can occur by deleting an existing cross-connection
by mistake.
9. Are any existing STS-1 cross-connections to be deleted?
If YES, then continue with Step 10.
If NO, then continue with Step 12.
10. At the CIT, select CONFIGURATION-Delete-Squelch Map-STS1 command
to delete an STS-1 cross-connection. (This deletes an STS-1 squelch map
entry at this node.)
11. At the DSX-3 and/or STSX-1 cross-connect panel, rearrange the low-speed
cablestoagreewithStep10(seeFigure1).
12. Do you have instructions pertaining to STS-1 cross-connections at other
network elements?
If YES, then continue with Step 13.
If NO, then continue with Step 17.
13. Establish a remote login to one of the other network elements in the FT-2000
ring network.

14. Repeat Steps 3 through 11 for the appropriate STS-1 cross-connections.
[Assistance will be required at the other network element to rearrange the
low-speed cables at the DSX-3 and/or STSX-1 cross-connect panel(s).]
15. Discontinue the remote login.

16. Repeat Steps 12 through 15 for each of the remaining network elements in the
ring network that requires STS-1 cross-connections per the instructions.
17. All STS-1 cross-connections have been made and are now ready for traffic.
18. STOP! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
