Issue 8.0, July 2002 Page 3 of 12
3. At the transmit test set, insert a verifiable signal for
each path being tested.
4. At the receive test set, verify the detection of the
inserted signal on each path being tested.
5. To test path integrity for 2-way paths, repeat Steps 3
and 4 from opposite ends of each path.
6. At the FT-2000 primary node P, execute a manual
DRI switch for each path being tested. Use the
FAULT-Switch-Path-STS3(or STS1)-Manual
command for the appropriate line(s) and tributary(s).
7. Repeat Steps 3 through 5 for each path being tested.
8. At the FT-2000 primary node P, reset the manual
DRI switch for each path being tested. Use the
FAULT-Switch-Path-STS3(or STS1)-Reset
command for the appropriate line(s) and tributary(s).
9. Verify that there are no alarm or status conditions in
the ring.
10. This completes testing path integrity (Figure 1).
11. The local FT-2000 ring has one DRI cross-connection to the outside. The DRI
cross-connections terminate on an external network and the local
source/destination cross-connections terminate directly to a test set.
Verify that there are no alarm or status conditions in
either ring/network (Figure 2).
12. At the transmit end in the external network, insert a
verifiable signal into each path being tested.
13. At the receive test set, verify the detection of the
inserted signal on each path being tested.
14. To test path integrity for 2-way paths, repeat Steps
12 and 13 from opposite ends of each path.
