13. Increased Memory Allocation to R9 on Windows 7 x64: The R9 software has been compiled with the
Large Address Aware flag so that more memory can be utilized by the application. Below is some
information about this change. On a 32-bit Windows operating system, each application has a 4 GB
addressable memory space. However, Windows reserves the upper 2 GB of addressable memory space
for itself. That leaves only 2 GB maximum for an application. In reality, however, Windows will report Out
of Memory when the application uses up about 1.2 GB of memory. On a 64-bit Windows operating
system, a 32-bit application with the Large Address Aware flag will have up to 3 GB of addressable
memory space. Now Windows will report Out of Memory when the application uses up around 2.4 GB of
memory or more. The result of this change is that more memory is available to the R9 software which will
provide a better user experience.
14. IHL Integration Tool: this is a useful tool for upgrading IHL files to newer software versions.
15. New Procedures Added: V Line Spectroscopy, Z Line Spectroscopy, Z Image Spectroscopy, ZV
Spectroscopy, Multi-height Imaging (AFM).
