This usually corresponds to which circuit board a component is located on. Components can be quickly
located by using the Search bar at the top of the Item Palette.
5. Log / Output / Recent Files: Communication between the R9 Controller and R9 Software appears on
the Log tab. Special information regarding debugging or other operations may be seen on the Output
tab. The most recently opened files can be viewed on the Recent Files tab.
6. Properties: The properties associated with the currently selected item in Hardware Space will appear
on the Properties panel. The properties may include initial values, hardware component behaviors,
and other settings. Controls for specific hardware components can be hidden from appearing on the
Dashboard by disabling the Show in Dashboard checkbox on the General tab. Hardware
components can also be renamed on the General tab.
When no Hardware item is selected, the Properties panel will show the Description for the IHL File,
the Controller IP Address, the Validate button (attempts to validate all Procedures), the Post-Initialize
procedure, and Pre-Shutdown procedure.
Important
The settings of the hardware components as shown in the property panel in Hardware
Space are the parameters that are sent down to the controller during initialization. Thought
must be given to the values set in the property panels so the system comes up in the
desired state. An example would be the TTL items: If the outputs are desired to initialize in
the LOW state, they need to be set to RESET in the Property Panel.
Tip
These properties can all be changed when running Procedures.
7. Hardware Space: This is where virtual hardware components on the Item Palette can be placed.
Components are connected pin-to-pin with wires. The Inputs and Outputs can be distinguished by the
shape and position of the pins.
Tip
Inputs are always shown on the left side of an item. Outputs are always shown on the right
side.
8. R9 Controller Connection Status: The connection status of the R9 Controller will appear here. The
connection status will be either red when Offline or green when Online.
