CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
CONTROL COMPUTER
The control computer is an industrial personal computer (PC), with a high resolution
color touch screen for operator input. An enhanced PC keyboard is also provided for
maintenance input. The control computer is equipped with multiple I/O cards to
provide for control of primary machine functions. The control computer is physically
located at the left side of the machine inside door 7. The monitor is mounted on an
adjustable support arm at the front of the machine for operator convenience.
SERVO CONTROL
The machine has six brushless DC servo motors powered by brushless DC servo
amplifiers and control boards. Two AC servo motors are powered by a pulse width
modulated variable frequency drive. Velocity, position, and direction are controlled by
the motion control board located in the control computer.
