WHILE THE CYCLE IS RUNNING, MONITOR THE STATUS SCREEN DISPLAY VALUES
12. While the cycle is running, monitor the real time display and compare with
the following requirements:
a. The force during dressing should remain steady and should not rise
above 10 lbs. If the force fluctuates erratically, the wheel probably
needs to be changed.
b. The motor current during dressing should be within normal operating
limits (less than 9.0 amps).
c. Chuck vacuum during grinding must be greater than 18 inches of
mercury.
d. Coolant flow during grinding should be between 2 and 3 gallons per
minute per wheel.
If any of the above requirements is not met:
• STOP the cycle by following the procedures shown in If There’s a
Problem, Stop (Cancel) the Cycle, immediately below.
Correct the problem before continuing by referring to Normal
Operating Conditions and Strategies for Maintaining Them, located in
the Troubleshooting chapter of this manual.
If the status screen value requirements are met:
• Skip to When the Start Cycle and Stop Cycle Buttons Begin to Flash,
below.
