1. Rotate the grind wheel while observing the left probe reading on the Home
Machine menu screen:
a. Gently grasp the grind wheel to prevent it from rotating.
DO NOT press down on the grind wheel; apply gentle side force to
restrain it.
b. While gently holding the fringe plate stationary with one hand, manually
rotate the upper left spindle grind wheel.
c. Record the probe readings displayed at Points A, B, and C as shown in
Figure 11-4.
Point A ___ Point B ___ Point C ___
GOAL: The readings at Points A, B, and C should be within +/- 2
microns of each other.
2. To make corrections, adjust--either one or both--the lower left spindle side to
side adjusting screw and the lower left spindle front to rear adjusting screw:
Side to Side
a. Locate the lower left spindle side to side adjusting screw, a two-pitch
screw extending horizontally from the side of the lower left spindle
assembly.
Notes:
Access the adjusting screw through the door 14 opening.
The screw is labeled for easy identification.
