4. At the Machine Maintenance menu, carefully move the spindle up in small
increments, positioning the spindle such that the diamond wheel does not
protrude below the inflatable seal top cover and the spindle casting is not
hitting the hard stop:
GOAL: Watching carefully and moving slowly, move the spindle up
until it is positioned such that
the diamond wheel does not protrude below the inflatable seal
top cover
AND
the spindle casting is not hitting the hard stop.
Touch to Select Explanation/Screen Display
a. Factor x 1000 At the Machine Maintenance menu screen,
estimate the distance the spindle must move and
set the movement factor. For example, touch
the "Factor x 1000" button to set the factor at
0.1 microns x 1000.
Notes:
.001 inches x 1000 = one inch of movement per
touch of the Up or Down Arrow button touch.
Readjust the factor, as shown below in Step c.,
to avoid overtraveling
b. ⇑ Touch the "Up Arrow" button just to the left of
the coarse spindle icon as many times as needed
to have the spindle approach the sensor.
