3. Using a 6-in. scale, measure the distance from the bottom of each probe tip to
the top surface lip of the inflatable seal:
GOAL: When the probe is in its UP position, the probe tip must be
3/8 in. above the top lip of the inflatable seal when
measured with a 6-in. scale.
a. If both probes are positioned correctly, no further adjustment is required.
b. If either probe's position does not meet the goal, correct it by following the
procedure in Section C., below.
C. ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
Note: Steps 1. through 7., immediately below, separate the handling section of
the machine from the grinding section.
1. Turn machine power OFF.
2. Remove door 17.
3. Remove the two 3/8-16 wing nuts and washers, located at the right side of the
machine behind door 17, which secure the grinding section of the machine to
the handling section:
a. Manually rotate each wing nut counterclockwise to loosen and remove.
b. Remove large washers.
Note: Do not remove the setscrews from the handling section.
4. Push down on the two black 2-inch exhaust duct tubes to disconnect them
from the grinding exhausts (their top connection).
Allow the duct tubes to rest at the top of the plenum connection.
5. Push the handling section clockwise slightly, rotating it on its hinge, to expose
the hoses joining the grinding area facilities to the handling area.
Notes: Do not remove the hinge pin, located on the left side of the
handling section.
The handling section moves easily on two castors.
