Here is an example of choosing a narrower range. The wheel wear is limited by the tooth height of the
wheel. If the wheel being used has a tooth height of 3500 microns, that would be a better selection than
5000.
It is important to note that the two new VID’s are Equipment Constants. Therefore, they must be added to
the file EC_DEFLT.TXT in the EXECODE directory. They will be automatically added as part of the
installation process. The file EC_DEFLT.NEW already contains the new variables.
Summary of Robot Station Coordinate Special Items (Equipe Model 212 only)
This release 5.00 and the recent release 4.05 have made use of five special items in the station coordinates of
the Equipe robot controller. Storing values there is very much the same as storing values in the Machine
Variables, except that these values will be used by the software in the robot controller instead of the software
in the IBM PC. Here are the five new values. (Other special items are in use and should not be modified.)
Station Item Meaning
c = Prealigner (GET) 0 angle between robot & prealigner; need for align square wafers
1 change the offset for GET/PUT of 4-inch wafers
D = Left Work Chuck 0 pause before robot lift wafer in GET; allow blowoff to begin
E = Right Work Chuck 0 pause before robot lift wafer in GET; allow blowoff to begin
f = Spin Station (GET) 0 pause before robot lift wafer in GET; allow blowoff to begin
7AFBAK
This release provides a more-powerful version of 7AFBAK, the DOS utility that copies to a floppy the 7AF
data files that are special for your 7AF. This has always saved recipes, machine variable settings, wafer
counts, and serial number. It now saves the robot and pre-aligner files as well. It runs the stations program
to copy the current station coordinates and scanning coordinates and special items from the robot controller.
It is recommended that you run this utility EVERY time you make a significant change to recipes or robot
coordinates, and keep the floppy disk in a safe place.
GEM Manual
On the release floppies you will also find the latest copy of the Strasbaugh 7AF Backgrinder SECS/GEM
Interface manual. It is not installed onto the 7AF, but you may wish to copy it to a different computer as a
reference document or to be printed. The file is 7AF_GEM.EXE which is a “self-extracting” compressed file.
That is, if you run this “command” it will produce the uncompressed manual, named GEM_7AF.DOC which
is in Microsoft Word format.
