Checking the connecting rod
bearings
It is good practice to renew the
bearings (3) each time the engine
is overhauled.
Replacement bearings are supplied
ready for assembly and they must not
be reworked with scrapers or emery
cloth.
The bearings belong to two different
size classes each identified by a
specific colour (RED and BLUE).
The bearings are composed of an
external steel ring, the inner face of
which is electro-plated with a lead-
based compound.
The table shows the coupling of the
bearings to be fitted according to the
size class of the crankshaft and
connecting rod.

E buona norma sostituire
i semicuscinetti (3) ad ogni
revisione del motore.
Vengono forniti di ricambio pronti per
il montaggio e non devono quindi
essere ritoccati con raschietti o tela
smeriglio.
Appartengono a due classi
dimensionali identificate ciascuna da
un colore (ROSSO e BLU).
Sono costituiti da un supporto
esterno in acciaio e da uno strato
interno a base di piombo ottenuto con
processo galvanico.
La tabella riporta l’accoppiamento dei
semicuscinetti da montare in base
alla classe di selezione dell’albero e
della biella.
