Chapt er 3 Real time clock battery life and
shelf life
The Dolby IMS2000 contains a Real Time Clock (RTC). This clock is used to determine
the unlocking of playback keys, and other functions. The clock has a battery backup
which is rechargeable, but not field replaceable. The RTC battery has a life expectancy of
10 years under normal use conditions, but a shelf life of only 1 year.
The owner is responsible for maintaining that a Dolby IMS2000 RTC battery is properly
charged. If a Dolby IMS2000 has been in storage for at least 6 months, we recommend
charging the RTC battery. To charge the RTC battery, you must place the Dolby IMS2000
into a projector and then power on the projector. The Dolby IMS2000 RTC battery
requires 60 hours of continuous power for a full charge.
