Mission of the CORTEX HDR 1.3
Introduction 1.3.1
The Cortex High Data rate Receiver is dedicated to the reception of the high rate telemetry of the
remote sensor satellites.
The Cortex HDR is part of the Cortex family products, all using the same architecture: a board with
FPGA chips plugged into the 4U-high Cortex chassis (equipped with PC Server Board).
The Cortex HDR fulfills:
Telemetry demodulation,
Telemetry processing,
Telemetry simulation for test purposes (optional),
Following, the different possible operating modes.
Operating Modes 1.3.2
Depending on the delivered hardware configuration, the delivered operational configuration (licenses
dependent) and the selected start-up menu, the HDR can be operated in one of the following operating
modes:
720 MHz +/-200MHz IF input
1,2GHz +/-300MHz IF input
2,4GHz +/-750MHz IF input
Wideband: 500MHz to 2,4GHz IF input could be used for IF 1,5GHz+-750MHz
All input could be dual IF: 2 input are available for dual polarization reception
Number of demodulator from 2 up to 8 depending on menu
Performances and particularly the supported maximum bit rates are dependent on the operating mode.
Depending on the delivered configuration (licenses dependent) and the selected start-up menu, one or
more data processing units can be connected at the output of demodulator units.
