Direct injection pump and fuel injector
Removing the fuel rail
Do not remove the fuel pressure sensor
from the fuel rail. Otherwise, fuel could leak
when the fuel pressure sensor is reinstalled
to the fuel rail.
Removing the fuel injector
1. Remove:
• Fuel injector
• Remove the fuel injector along with the fuel
rail.
• If the fuel injectors remain installed to the
cylinder head, remove them using the spe-
cial service tool.
2. Remove:
• Nozzle seal
a. Stretch the nozzle seal “1” by pulling it
away from the nozzle using needle-
nose pliers.
b. Cut the nozzle seal.
If the nozzle seal is cut without pulling it,
the fuel injector could be damaged.
3. Remove:
• Stopper “1”
•O-ring “2”
•Backup ring “3”
Be careful not to scratch the installation
area of the O-ring.
