PTT sensor
This model is equipped with a PTT sensor that detects the trim and tilt angle of the outboard through-
out the full range of movement from fully tilted down to fully tilted up. The end of the pin on the tilt rod
fits into the PTT sensor that is installed to the swivel bracket. The pin is secured in the tilt rod and when
the swivel bracket moves vertically, the relative angle between the pin and the sensor changes. This
change is used to detect the trim and tilt angles of the outboard motor. While the outboard motor is
tilted up from the fully tilted down position “A”, the relative angle becomes smaller. When the outboard
motor is in the fully tilted up position “B”, the PTT sensor is almost parallel to the tilt rod.
In addition, because the sensor is completely waterproof due to its mounting structure, durability is
increased.
