PTT cylinder
Removing the tilt ram
Before removing the tilt cylinder end screw,
make sure that the PTT rams are fully ex-
tended. Otherwise, fluid could be expelled
forcefully from the PTT unit due to internal
pressure.
1. Remove:
•Pipe1
•Circlips2
Lower mounting shaft caps “3”
•O-rings4
Spring “5”
2. Remove:
Lower mounting shaft “1”
•O-rings2
Tilt cylinder assembly “3”
Spacers “4”
3. Drain:
•Fluid
4. Loosen:
Tilt cylinder end screw “1”
5. Remove:
Free piston “1”
When removing the free piston, never look
into the tilt cylinder opening because the
free piston and PTT fluid could be expelled
forcefully.
TIP:
Cover the tilt cylinder using a rag “2”, and then
blow compressed air through the hole “a” to
remove the free piston “1”.
Removing the trim ram
1. Loosen:
Trim cylinder end screws “1”
Cylinder end screw wrench “2”
