"Info..." opens a dialog, displaying information on the baseband signal level.
The single ended or differential output requires option R&S SMU-B16, Differential Output.
5.7.1 Impairments
Impairment of the digital I/Q signal can be used, for example, to compensate the distortion
of a test object or to check the effect of a disturbed signal on a test object. For this purpose,
the I/Q signal can be output at the I/Q OUT outputs. On the other hand, the I/Q impair-
ments used internally for compensating signal distortion can be deactivated by the I/Q
modulator in order to, for example, test its own baseband components.
Equipped with the R&S SMU RF and Baseband Correction Toolkit (option R&S SMU-
K63) signal distortion of the I/Q signal output or, deterioration in the quality of modulation
or the spectral properties of multi carrier signals can be corrected. The correction data
are created by Matlab software and stored on the instrument's hard disk.
For two path instruments, equipped with two baseband main modules (option R&S SMU-
B13) and two RF paths, a second option R&S SMU-K63 is required for signal correction
in the second path.
In addition to impairment of the digital I/Q signal, the R&S SMU also allows impairment
of the analog signal to be set in the I/Q modulator. The relevant settings are made in the
I/Q Mod function block (see chapter 5.6, "I/Q Modulation - I/Q Mod Block", on page 275).
5.7.1.1 Impairment Settings Menu
To access the "Impairment Settings" menu for setting the digital I/Q impairments, select
"AWGN/IMP > Configure > I/Q Impairements" or use the MENU key under "AWGN/
IMP".
I/Q impairment is activated and set in the "I/Q Impairments" section.
